Camel watching in Oman

Being a woman from an archipelago, to see a camel is like being a kid again.I am fascinated by these lovely creatures, talk about pure joy. Here are camel pictures during some of my road trips in Oman.

These are shots i took after a grocery trip near Barka. My friend and I indulged on taking some pictures without disturbing them. After a while, some motorists, i presume also a tourist like us, also stopped to take a glimpse and some pictures.

The picture above was during the Eid break, my fiance’ and I were on our way to a camping trip in Bar Al Hickman. Half way along the journey, one can see the triangle warning signs , watch out people ! Okay,we were in the middle of a three-car convoy when all of a sudden, the car in front of us flashed the warning sign.: danger camel crossing! The poor camel was nervous, it was hurrying up to cross the street while cars on both lanes were patiently waiting for the beautiful creature to pass safely.

These ones, my friends and I intentionally dropped by a camel farm one fine day in Muladdah. The place has a funny smell. LOLs. okay, let us talk about these creatures again, some of the camels were tied up just right above the ankle so they wont roam around. Oh, these are such friendly beings that gamely pose for the cameras.

And this picture, it was a pleasant afternoon for me and my friends to have a photo opportunity with a caravan. Our plan that day is to check out the nearby beach where the Asian beach games will be held by December.Driving along the beach we get to see this bunch. One friend was able to ride the camel, well, that’s his dream . It was a struggle for the camel and his master to take my friend on the camels back. That was one encounter with some unfriendly camels.
