Changing my Maiden Name : the PRC trip

It is easy to apply for a petition for change of registered name with the Professional Regulation Commission. Make sure that your PRC ID is valid,(if not you can easily apply for a fast ID : (http://www.prc.gov.ph/registration)/?id=29)    then follow the prescribed procedure stated on this link:

http://www.prc.gov.ph/uploaded/documents/PETITION%20FOR%20CHANGE%20OF%20REGISTERED%20NAME%20DUE%20TO%20MARRIAGE.pdf

The process is easy if  you have prepared  all the necessary requirements. When I accomplished my petition for the change of name, PRC provides an efficient service :  from the issuance of forms, the notarization of the document, and verification of records. The tedious part was waiting in line to pay for the fees.

The line leading to the cashier went slower because two of the three women stationed at the payment area need to take their lunch break. It was good that the PRC didn’t totally close the cashier’s office. Well, I hope next time , they will come up with a line for professionals, (don’t get me wrong here) , because the line leading to the cashier is a “mixed crowd”, professionals dealing with renewals and all that stuff and applicants also paying for their fees.  (They have a special lane provided for senior citizens and for professionals applying for a fast ID)

Anyways, getting back to the topic,  after submitting the duly accomplished form to the office of the Assistant Secretary, wait for 3 to 4 months to get your new certificate .
